CentaurMD ("CentaurMD", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on centaurmd.ca (the "Website") and on account, subscription, and sign-in pages connected to the locally installed CentaurMD clinical application (the "Application"). This Cookies Policy explains how and why these technologies are used.
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, and browser-based identifiers, may also be used to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and support secure operation of the Service.
These Website and account technologies are separate from the helper's bounded call-audio buffers and from CentaurMD's clinical processing controls. For more details, see the CentaurMD Privacy Policy.
Types of technologies we use
Cookies may be "session" cookies or "persistent" cookies. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or are deleted.
CentaurMD may also use local storage, session storage, and similar browser technologies on public or account pages to maintain sign-in state, remember non-clinical preferences, support workflow continuity, and reduce repeated input. The desktop Application separately stores clinical data and settings on the user's computer using Application and operating-system storage.
Necessary or essential technologies
CentaurMD uses essential technologies required for the Website and connected Application entry points to function. These may include authentication, subscription verification, session management, optional Sync authorization, security controls, fraud prevention, abuse detection, and system integrity protections.
These technologies are required for secure access to connected portions of the Service and cannot be disabled without affecting sign-in, account, billing, update, support, or optional Sync functionality. Local call transcription does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Functionality and preference technologies
CentaurMD may use persistent technologies to remember user preferences, interface settings, and non-clinical workflow configurations. These improve usability by reducing repetitive actions and maintaining a consistent user experience.
These technologies do not independently send clinical content to CentaurMD. Clinical content stored by the desktop Application remains local unless an authorized user exports or shares it, uses an approved integration or support process, or enables optional Canadian-hosted backup and synchronization.
Analytics and performance technologies
Where enabled on public-facing Website pages, CentaurMD may use analytics technologies to understand general traffic patterns, performance metrics, and feature usage.
This may include tools such as Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics 4, configured to collect aggregate, non-identifying usage data. CentaurMD does not intend for analytics tools to collect or process patient-identifying clinical information.
Analytics use is limited to improving Website performance, usability, and public-facing content. Clinical Data and optional Sync Data are not used for advertising or general Website analytics.
Third-party technologies
CentaurMD may rely on third-party providers for Website infrastructure, public-site analytics, authentication, communications, payment processing, and related account functions. These providers may set or access cookies in accordance with their policies and contractual obligations to CentaurMD.
Third-party Website and account technologies are not part of the helper's local call-audio path. Clinical AI providers and optional clinical backup/synchronization are addressed in the Privacy Policy and subprocessor register rather than through advertising or analytics cookies.

Your choices
You can control cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block, restrict, or delete cookies, as well as clear local storage and related data.
If you disable essential technologies, parts of the Website, sign-in, account, billing, update, support, or optional Sync access flow may not function properly. Clearing browser cookies does not automatically erase clinical data stored locally by the desktop Application or data already included in optional Sync.

Changes to this policy
CentaurMD may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Website, Application, or service providers. Updates will be reflected by revising the date above.
